Observation Drive Extended

2022.04.08 This project will provide a north-south corridor that links the existing Observation Drive to Stringtown Road, providing multi-modal access to a rapidly developing residential and business area between the I-270 and MD 355 corridors. This project is still in the very early stages. Phase 1 is under review for approval for funding (for study most likely) for the county’s CIP. This would allow additional study and refinement for the section between the existing terminus in N. Germantown to Little Seneca Parkway, particularly pertaining to environmental issues. There are no updates on plans for anything further north. There is potential for a new Master Plan for this area, however, in which additional recommendations on alignment may or may not be made. Long story short: not much is happening at present, but there is still intention to do something.
