MM&C attorney Peter Randolph will be presenting on the topic of business succession planning at the 2024 Maryland State Bar Association Legal Summit, set to take place June 5-7 at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, Maryland.
Randolph will join Venable LLP’s Daniel Mendelsohn on Thursday, June 6 at 11 am, for a presentation titled, Success in Business Succession: A Guide to the Ownership, Management and Tax Implications of Business Transfers.
Randolph and Mendelsohn will examine issues arising in corporate, estate and trust planning and administration related to the transfer of business interests from one generation to the next. They will discuss practical and tax implications of various planning techniques, including the use of certain trusts, business entities, and opportunities for reorganization of existing entities. They will also present possible solutions to difficult post-mortem issues, including ways to resolve the S-Corp death tax trap.
For the last three decades, the MSBA Legal Summit has convened legal professionals from across the state of Maryland, providing instruction, thought leadership and networking opportunities for those in every career stage.
