At the invitation of SmartCEO Magazine, Miller, Miller & Canby's Maury S. Epner joined several other attorneys from the Greater Washington, DC Metro area for a 90-minute roundtable discussion addressing current issues of interest and concern to CEOs with respect to employment counseling and litigation. Mr. Epner and his peers focused on recent legal developments, employee classifications (W-2 vs 1099), issues of privacy and security related to the burgeoning trend of employees using personal "smart" devices in the workplace, the overriding importance of well-written employment agreements and other contracts, and wage-payment and other compensation-related issues. The program, held on February 26th at the offices of Citibank in Washington, DC, was recorded and will be published, and also made available via podcast in the digital edition, of the June issue of SmartCEO Magazine. Smart CEO's readership consists of influential C-level executives who are business leaders and mentors in their companies and their communities.
Mr. Epner is a partner with Miller, Miller & Canby and leads the firm's Litigation Section. He concentrates his practice in complex commercial litigation, employment litigation, and appellate advocacy.
