The American Law Institute’s 33rd Annual Eminent Domain and Land Valuation Litigation Program will be held January 28-30, 2016 in Austin, Texas and will include the nation’s preeminent leaders in eminent domain law.
According to American Law institute planners, the program will feature “the best of the best, selected from lawyers who represent both property owners and condemnors.”
This annual conference brings together lawyers, appraisers, condemning agencies, right-of-way professionals, and members of academia from around the country to share valuable experiences and discuss current and complex issues surrounding eminent domain and property valuation.
Miller, Miller & Canby litigation attorney Joe Suntum will be speaking on the topic of using technology at trial to enhance the persuasiveness of the argument and case at hand. He will also join colleague Anthony Della Pelle to present a seminar on best practices with respect to taking depositions for eminent domain cases.
Other program highlights include a talk by Austin Mayor Steve Adler, a former eminent domain attorney; a program on ethics titled “Ethics: Tips and Traps for the Eminent Domain Practitioner”; and a program on one of the hottest topics in condemnation law today: “Pipelines and Energy Corridors: Valuation Perspectives of Condemnors and Condemnees”.
