Donna McBride has been appointed to serve on The Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland, beginning her term in 2022. The Commission is dedicated to protecting the public and maintaining the integrity of the legal profession and seeks to encourage and promote the ethical practice of law and the highest standards of professionalism by members of the Bar.
The duties of members of Commission members include evaluating complaints and enforcing ethical standards for lawyers, investigating possible misconduct, the prosecution of disciplinary proceedings, review of escrow account overdrafts, investigation of unauthorized practice of law and investigation of petitions for reinstatement.
The Attorney Grievance Commission was established in 1975 to oversee the discipline of Maryland attorneys and review the conduct of attorneys to determine the need for alternatives to discipline. It consists of nine attorneys and three non-attorneys appointed by the Court of Appeals. Donna McBride is a Shareholder at Miller, Miller & Canby where she has practiced in the litigation department since 2004. Both before and after joining MM&C, she played leading roles in several multi-million dollar disputes, trying many of those cases to verdict. In early 2019, Donna was invited to be a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers. Fellowship in the “College” is by invitation only to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards.
