Miller, Miller & Canby was proud to once again sponsor the Committee for Montgomery Legislative Breakfast, which took place on December 15 at the Bethesda North Marriott Conference Center. The annual event is seen as the unofficial “kickoff” of the Maryland General Assembly season in Montgomery County. Community, business, civic, government and educational leaders participate in what is the largest gathering in Montgomery County of elected officials that represent the county and state of Maryland. The event features networking and panel discussions about legislative priorities.
This year’s event featured opening remarks by the Hon. David Trone, US Representative, 6th Congressional District and the Hon. Brooke Lierman, Comptroller of Maryland. The Hon. Marc Elrich, Hon. Andrew Friedson, Hon. Ben Kramer, and Hon. Julie Palakovich-Carr also addressed the assembly. Representatives from Maryland Matters, The Washington Post and MoCo 360 participated in the Journalists Panel.
The mission of the Committee for Montgomery, which consists of a broad coalition of leaders that advocates to the Maryland State Government, is to “study and develop positions on issues important to Montgomery County and to actively work with officials on these matters.”
