Burtonsville Access Road

2022.04.08 The long-delayed Burtonsville Access Road project is finally funded for final design, property acquisition and construction. The County expects to complete design of the project by the end of the year, begin land acquisition in January 2023, and estimates that construction will begin in mid-2024. The new roadway will provide rear access to commercial businesses, as the State Rt. 198 Segment D Project will construct a median down Rt. 198 and prevent left hand turns into the commercial properties along Rt. 198 in Burtonsville. The State reports that most of the traffic accidents along this stretch of Rt. 198 result from left turn movement.
