Donna McBride, a partner in Miller, Miller & Canby's Litigation practice,
is a native and lifelong resident of Montgomery County. In her more than two
decades of practice, she has tried hundreds of lawsuits throughout the State of Maryland and in the District of Columbia -- approximately 100 of
which were jury trials. Her trial practice is diverse and extensive.
Earlier
in her career, she concentrated her practice in insurance defense, primarily personal injury matters, and she continues to represent both plaintiffs and defendants in such cases.
More recently, she has played leading roles in complex business matters for large corporate clients and in other areas such as insurance related litigation, trust litigation as well as zoning and land use matters. Many of these cases involve difficult and novel issues that her extensive courtroom experience enables her to navigate with success.
In addition to her background as a trial lawyer, Ms. McBride is a member of the Standing Committee on Practice and Procedures, where she was appointed to serve a second 5-year term beginning in 2018. She is also a member of the Trial Court's Judicial Nominating Commission, the Montgomery County Inn of Court, a former co-chair and current member of the Maryland State Bar Association's Judicial Selections Committee and has volunteered as a mediator for the District Court since 2008. In 2018, she was elected to serve as Treasurer for the Montgomery County Bar Association, to serve the 2018-2019 term.
Ms. McBride is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. She has been named as a Super Lawyer for Maryland and in the District of Columbia every year since 2014.
"We received outstanding service from the firm and our personal thanks go to Donna McBride for her persistent efforts, professionalism, compassion, and her ability to explain complicated legal issues so that we could easily understand our rights. My husband and I were quite pleased with the resolution of our case."
